We have long term residents that have been here from day one. Our residents are the reason we do what we do. I’ve heard it “takes a village”, but here at Somerset we say it takes a community. It is not unusual to see a neighbor helping someone up the stairs on a snowy day, or the office staff calling a resident that they haven’t seen in 2 or 3 days. Not gossiping, but genuinely calling out of concern for their well-being. Our residents are important to us and we want to be sure that they are well !

“Be kind and courteous” – we’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required. We really strive to have a healthy community free of drugs, arguments, fights, bullying, and so forth. We believe that a kind word goes a long way. That mutual respect for one another is better than the alternatives and that we want our residents to be safe from outside influences, such as drugs. We are quick to respond if someone notices something untoward. Our police department (not more than a stone throw away) routinely drives up and down our streets making their presence known and making sure that we are all safe.
